Yeti, since the PC version is a console port you can run Mass Effect 2 on entry level hardware as well. Overall I prefer Mass Effect 2 because of the better combat and better sound. I think this system is pretty good but it's a bit too limited. Instead you scan weapons or buy blueprints and use minerals to buy upgrades. Each squadmate comes with a loyalty quest that allows the player to know much more about their motives. Instead of six squadmates you get 10 plus two downloadable character (one of them being a free download). Combat is more refined now and the game plays more like a Gears of War type third person shooter. There are much less skills and skill levels allowing much less freedom in your character's progression. The story was better in the first game, which makes sense since ME2 is the middle part of the trilogy.
